If you enjoyed the novel A DISTANT VOICE IN THE DARKNESS, or if you haven’t got time in a busy life to read a novel, why not try my short stories?

The latest are in the slim volume FRESH BEGINNINGS – do you want time travel? Or laugh-out-loud funny? One story is narrated by someone who isn’t actually a human being at all, but we still empathise with him and we enjoy his keen observation of the strange humans around him. There’s plenty of family conflict of course, and broken relationships with grandchildren.

There’s also a young lad resting after his exams, listening to a CD his girlfriend gave him instead of putting on the TV one morning, wondering why his mates keep mysteriously texting to ask if he is OK, and why no one has made it into work at the office where his sister works…

There are also strangers, some more readily accepted than others: a young German boy in immediate post-war Hertfordshire – that’s a tricky one - and a young Japanese engineer in South Wales who unfortunately needs help from someone’s granddad who was once a prisoner-of-war of the Japanese during the war.

You can get FRESH BEGINNINGS on Amazon Kindle if you prefer. A DISTANT VOICE IN THE DARKNESS will soon be on Kindle too, but for now there’s the paperback.
