Let’s time travel back to old Copenhagen!

A couple of modern-day British cousins who happen to have a Danish grandmother are climbing into a wheelie bin. Why? They need to experiment with time travel because they’ve lost Daniel’s brother somewhere far back inside the famous fairytales of Hans Andersen…

Thus begins one of the stories in FRESH BEGINNINGS, a varied collection of eleven short stories (Leela Dutt, illustrations by Kate Attfield) that has just been chosen to be Book of the Day later this month by the Online Book Club.

This Club only chooses books to be BOTD that are below a certain price as an ebook, so you can get this one for £1.77 or free with Kindle Unlimited  - although if you’re like me, you’d rather have an actual book to hold in your hands, and you can get this slim volume for £8 from any online sales outlet, including the publisher Bridge House Publishing.

That story in particular was great fun to write because I’ve had many happy holidays all my life with my Danish relations in Copenhagen.

But it's not the only story in the collection with the theme of time travel – the first story, Visitors, is about a funeral back in 1969 on the day of the moon landing, when someone returns from the future to put right a sad old failure. Unfortunately, in real life this can never be done, which is perhaps why we write stories?
