latest news about robin's work
During Lockdown Robin has been working from home on an intensive programme of new writing, along with a set of long invigorating walks in the area, often with his wife.... pausing also to advise our daughter Dr Kate Attfield on a series of articles she is publishing about her research on girls and women with Triple X, that is three X chromosomes - an area which is significantly un-researched at present, and needs to be developed.
Robin has written a chapter called Anthropocentrism, Biocentrism, Stewardship and Co-creation in the Cambridge Companion to Religion and Environment, which is edited by Alexander Hampton.
Also he's just been offered a contract to write APPLIED ETHICS: AN INTRODUCTION for Polity Press (Cambridge) for August 2022
Meanwhile he is currently seeing through the same press, Polity, a book called ENVIRONMENTAL THOUGHT: A SHORT HISTORY
He has also started an 8.000 word article on Climate Change and Religion for a collection edited by Marcello di Paola.
Here too are a few of Robin’s books which he hopes scholars throughout the world will be able to recommend to the libraries of
their institutions. Oxford University Press's Very Short Introductions (VSI) are extremely popular both among students and the lay public. Robin's VSI on Environmental Ethics came out in December 2018. It is an inexpensive, accessible and illustrated paperback of 35,000 words, which could be used as a textbook or as introductory reading. So far reviewers have strongly recommended it to readers.
